Memories tampered with, soul no longer whole, Cloud Stife has lived through a great deal in the last seven years. The lost of his home town, his loved ones, and his mind. He was forced to kill the same person three times, the last being just that day, a person he had once cared for. One the edge of death and life, and force back to living by the people he had lost before, Cloud stood in the water, feeling a little lost.
Then he was in another lab, with the dead all around him, and nobody who has seen as much as he has. Lost in a new way, he travels with his new allies, trying to piece together things he had forgotten.
